How Vortex began.
Vortex Electrical was established as a partnership in 2008, with an active ABN and Registered Electrical Contractor registration. In the early years, we undertook a small amount of electrical work while also employed on large commercial electrical projects.
In 2017, we transitioned to Vortex Electrical Pty Ltd, retaining the same REC registration. That year, Simon Hansen left his external employment and moved into Vortex full-time.
Advice, installation and support.
Today, our local team helps with solar, battery storage, backup, EV charging, efficient hot water, heating and cooling, and general electrical work.
Simon reviews your home and energy needs and prepares your formal quote. Our local team handles installation and remains available for questions after handover.

Local community projects
Vortex Electrical was selected as the delivery partner for Queenscliffe Climate Action Now’s community solar program following its expression-of-interest and due-diligence process. The program has since closed. We also installed the solar and battery system at the Bellarine Railway’s Lakers Siding shed, with support from QCAN and Geelong Sustainability. That completed project is part of our local community installation work.
