Solar inverter guide

The inverter connects your solar to your home.

A good design starts with your roof, electrical supply and energy needs. We explain the Sigenergy options and what they mean for solar, storage and future changes.

What does a solar inverter do?

Solar panels produce direct current electricity. The inverter converts it to alternating current for use in your home and connection to the electricity grid.

Panel capacity and inverter power are different ratings. The design must consider both, together with roof orientation, shading and network conditions.

Inverter power is measured in kilowatts, or kW. A larger rating alone does not tell you how much solar energy your home will produce over a day or year.

Solar now, storage considered

Sigen Hybrid Inverter is Sigenergy’s solar inverter option with provision for compatible battery integration. If storage may be part of your plan, we assess the proposed equipment and what a later upgrade would require.

Solar and storage together

SigenStor brings the energy controller and modular battery storage into one system. We specify the controller, battery modules and any backup equipment for the work included in your proposal.

The details matter more than the headline rating.

We check your supply phases, switchboard, roof layout, existing equipment and network requirements before confirming the inverter. We also discuss planned EV charging, heating and battery storage.

If you want blackout power, include that in the brief. Solar panels or a hybrid inverter alone are not a promise of backup; the complete system and circuit arrangement must be designed for it.

Understand your system after installation.

The mySigen app shows energy flows, including generation and household consumption. We explain the relevant monitoring and controls at handover.

For an existing system, send us the inverter details and a recent electricity bill. We can discuss whether an upgrade has a useful purpose before recommending work.
