Home energy efficiency

Make a plan for how your home uses energy.

Solar is one part of the picture. Heating, cooling, hot water, lighting and the times you use electricity all help shape a practical plan for your home.

Vortex Electrical can review your existing equipment and the changes you are considering, then help you decide what to address first.

Understand your electricity use before changing the system.

Your bill and any available monitoring can help show when you draw electricity from the grid and how that changes through the year. We also discuss the appliances you use and any future plans.

For solar, we assess the roof and the electricity you are likely to use during the day. A battery can store energy for later, but its value and suitability depend on your household, existing equipment and the proposed design.

Our focus for new inverter, battery and EV charging proposals is Sigenergy. Backup requires its own equipment and electrical design; installing a battery alone does not establish which circuits will operate during an outage.

Choose upgrades that fit how you live.

Heating and cooling

Discuss how you use your rooms, your existing heating and any plans for reverse-cycle air conditioning. The equipment, zoning and electrical supply need to suit the property and the agreed scope.

Heat pump hot water

We can discuss a hot water heat pump and whether the location, household demand and electrical supply suit an upgrade. Where appropriate, heating schedules can be considered alongside solar generation and your routine.

Lighting and electrical

Review existing lighting, controls and planned electrical work together. Appropriate LED lighting, switching or other agreed improvements can form part of the plan, with the installation scope checked by the team.

Each proposal is assessed for the property. The outcome depends on the equipment, installation, electricity plan, weather and how the household uses energy.

A personal review
